Specialty Medication Copay Assistance

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Once your physician has prescribed you a new Specialty Medication there is a possibility you may need assistance with the co-pay. The doctor’s office will send in the referral to the medication “Hub” and the Specialty Pharmacy.  Once the benefits investigation is complete you will be notified of the estimated copay from either the “Hub” or the Specialty Pharmacy. Insurance coverage is broken down into 3 categories:

  • Private Insurance: Or commercial insurance as it is commonly called, is the insurance you obtain through your place of employment or purchase on an insurance marketplace if you are under the age of 65.
  • Public Insurance: Medicare, Medicaid or Government Funded Insurance
  • Uninsured: Those without prescription drug coverage

Once you are notified of the copay, it is important at this time to speak up if this is not affordable.  The steps below will help you through this process.
